Mustad’s Z-Steel finish was one of the the most corrosion-resistant hook finishes on the market when it was launched. Z-Steel is a unique alloy that was combined with high-carbon steel to create hooks that were exceedingly sharp, strong and virtually indestructible in even the most demanding fishing conditions. The welded ring eye made them strong as well as tough. They were great hooks, unfortunately they were also very expensive to produce and so didn’t sell well at the time.
We purchased the remaining stock of these classic 7691-ZS hooks at a great price and are able to pass the savings on to our customers. We only have size 11/0 left now and when they’re gone there won’t be any more.
